Spearheaded by our CATG president Lex Tyler, me, my fellow tour guides and several tour operators met up today to discuss a new tour circuit that will further boost Lapu-Lapu City tourism.

Where do you find authentic Cebu tastes and delicacies?

The Cebu food scene has always been one of the top reasons guests come here.

And recently, aside from the rise of different food parks, restos, and food shops that feature different cuisines, including traditional and heritage Bisaya food...

Several leading businesses and organizations have further elevated the food scene with different experiences that highlight not just the food that tease the palate, but the stories that created them.

Today, Cebu Association of Tourguides Inc. joined RAFI in experiencing TILAW.

Tilaw means taste. And is Casa Gorordo's new showcase featuring Cebu's local food and the stories behind them.

In today's first take-off, they offered merienda de siesta (snacks after siesta), served with a steaming heap of history and culture.

Exciting times are ahead with our local food scene, so be on the lookout for these experiences (or drop me a message if you want to experience them yourself).

Some tours take students to somewhere familiar...

Churches, historical parks, natural spots, museums, business venues, workplaces...

Mine takes them somewhere they've never been...

Inside themselves, where the stories of their experience merge with the stories of the places they visit.

I recently guided forty-seven (47) 3rd year BSBA - marketing management 3B students of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Tacloban and their 2 faculty teachers on a City Tour and an immersion at Cebu Chamber of Commerce, MEPZ 1, IPI, Mata, and ProFoods.

What's different about educational tours is we not only show them remnants of our past, but also the great possibilities of their future.

And it is such a privilege to be a spark that drives this.

To open their minds and get them excited of their life ahead.

To have a hand in encouraging them to pursue their goals while never forgetting to give back to the community.

It's a challenge, yes. Especially when managing a large group. But a challenge worth taking.

And guiding these naturally happy Waray students is an honor and a joy.

It was such a blast to be a small part of your journey, mga anak. Keep the faith and never lose sight of your goals. Especially sa akong Backstreet Boys.
