Our uploader was a first-time visitor who bravely took on the challenge of trekking Mt. Namogokan via the Namalitokan–Balnit Falls trail. The journey offered not only a rewarding hiking experience but also breathtaking views of nature along the way.

Aside from this exciting trail, here are other must-visit hiking destinations in Cervantes, Ilocos Sur:

1. Mt. Tuwato – Known as the hardest hiking site in Ilocos Sur, with a difficulty rating of 9/9. Challenge your limits and experience one of the toughest climbs in the province!
2. Mt. Namandiraan – The highest peak you can visit in Ilocos Sur. On clear days, hikers may enjoy panoramic views reaching parts of Baguio City, the famous Mt. Pulag, La Union, and Benguet.
3. Mt. Kimat (soon to reopen this September) – A scenic mountain trail featuring a stunning 360-degree view of the historic Bessang Pass Battle site.

🏔️💦 From Peak to Falls — an adventure worth every step!

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Mount Namogokan and the refreshing waters of Balnit Falls at their finest.

Recently, a group of tourists embarked on the exciting Peak-to-Falls Trail, traversing from Maggon in Barangay Malaya, through Biwak Village via Lubuluban in Dinwede East, and descending towards the majestic Balnit Falls.

The journey offers more than just a hike—it is a complete nature adventure filled with rugged trails, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable moments. Visitors are welcomed by spectacular mountain views and, on fortunate mornings, a mesmerizing sea of clouds that greets adventurers along the trail.

This hiking experience continues to undergo validation and enhancement through the collaborative efforts of tour organizers, local tour guides, the Municipal Government of Cervantes through its Tourism Office, and Barangay Malaya, ensuring a safer, more enjoyable, and more memorable experience for future visitors.

Four Mountains in just three hours? ⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️
Yes, it was made possible through a Mock Tour Activity conducted as part of the training for local tour guides.

The Local Government Unit of Cervantes, under the leadership of Atty. Mary Joyce P. Maggay, successfully conducted the “Tour Guiding Essentials: A One-Day Capacity Building Training.”

The activity was participated in by members of the Malaya-Bessang Tour Guide Association and the San Luis Tour Guide Association, who serve hikers and visitors of Mt. Namandiraan, Mt. Namogokan, Mt. Kimat, and Mt. Tuwato.

Simple yet fulfilling, the activity focused on Basic Photography, Tourism Etiquette, Basic Tour Guiding, the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence, and the Cervantes Tourism Situationer. The sessions were discussed and facilitated by Aiza Angelica G. Edal, Janna Rio Basinga, Kristine Gaburno, and Laymar Sad-en.

A simple initiative with a greater purpose—building more capable tourism frontliners, enhancing visitor experiences, and continuously working towards a better Cervantes.

Together, we strive for D’BEST Cervantes. 🌿⛰️🥾📸
