Orange Your Icon at the Claveria Viewdeck!

The iconic “Mais” sculpture at the Claveria Viewdeck has joined the global Orange the World movement! As part of the Orange Your Icon campaign spearheaded by the Department of Tourism-Region 10, the vibrant orange lighting of the “Mais Icon” symbolizes solidarity in the fight against violence towards women and girls.

This inspiring gesture is aligned with the 18 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which runs from November 25 to December 12. By illuminating the “Mais” in orange, Claveria amplifies the powerful message that every woman and girl deserves a life free from violence and fear.

The ceremonial lighting was graced by local leaders, including Mayor Meraluna Salvaleon Abrogar, Vice Mayor Reynante Salvaleon, and SB Members Hon. Jovita Balangiao, Hon. Reynaldo Fullo, and Hon. Lolon Ladao. Also present was Mr. Bart Talha representing Congressman Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano. Representatives from various sectors also joined the event: Ms. Gabbi Perez from the private sector, Mr. Gerum Salatan from the academe, Ms. Shiela May Tagle from MSWD, PLT Ronnie Donasco, FInsp Velarde from PNP and BFP, and Hon. Barangay Captain Raymund Rautraut, along with his council. Each participant pledged their commitment to ending violence against women (VAW).

Let us turn the beauty of the “Mais” at Claveria Viewdeck into a symbol of hope and change. Together, we can make a difference.
