Day 287: Okikawa Wreck!
Today I did another 3 dives with The first dive of the day was the Okikawa wreck. The Okikawa Maru (also known as the Concepcion Wreck) is a massive 160-meter-long Japanese oil tanker sunk by U.S. air raids in September 1944. It is the largest wreck in the area of Coron Bay. It sits upright at a maximum depth of 26 meters, with the deck resting at a highly accessible 10 to 16 meters.
This wreck was amazing as well and was absolutely the highlight of the day! We went inside the engine room and saw large schools of lionfish, batfish and sweetlips around the wreck.
The two other dives where Skeleton wreck and Coral Garden. Skeleton wreck is a wreck which is already almost gone, while Coral Garden is good for the small marine life like nudibranches, shrimps and beautiful corals.
Tomorrow I will do an island hopping trip, my second island hopping in Coron.
