Tawsan Mangrove Forest Eco Park was honored to welcome delegates from the WGC–CTU International Summer School Program 2026, bringing together participants from Cebu Technological University (CTU)–Danao Campus and Western Galilee College (WGC), Israel.

Under the theme Mangrove Stewardship in Tawsan, Danao City,” the visit provided an opportunity for meaningful learning and exchange on biodiversity conservation, coastal resource management, sustainable ecotourism, and community-based environmental stewardship.🌱🌊

More than simply visiting our mangrove forest, our guests became part of an experience that connects nature, community, culture, education, and sustainability.

The chosen Karansa Festival Trainers and Choreographers are currently undergoing a special workshop designed to strengthen their understanding of the meaning, message, cultural identity, and official guidelines of the Karansa Festival.

This workshop goes beyond choreography and dance movements. It aims to ensure that every trainer and choreographer understands what Karansa represents, so that its story, character, and cultural significance are properly translated into every performance.

Through this learning and alignment session, our trainers and choreographers are being equipped to guide their respective groups in creating performances that are not only entertaining and vibrant, but also meaningful, authentic, and faithful to the spirit of Karansa*

🥾 A FRIENDLY REMINDER TO ALL OUR TRAIL & HIKING GUESTS⛰️

We understand the excitement of conquering Danao City’s 5 Peaks Eco Trail Circuit — especially for experienced hikers who are eager to challenge themselves.

However, we would like to remind everyone that the Danao City Tourism and Development Office does NOT recommend or permit completing all five (5) peaks in a single day as part of our official trail and hiking activities.

This is not a question of whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or expert hiker. Our guidelines are primarily for your SAFETY and SECURITY. 🛡️

The terrain, trail conditions, route difficulty, elevation, and the considerable distances between peaks—whether traversed **on foot or with vehicle transport**—must all be taken into consideration. Attempting to cover multiple peaks beyond our recommended itinerary may result in fatigue, exposure to changing weather and trail conditions, delayed return, and other unforeseen risks.

👉 That is why we strongly encourage everyone to follow our recommended day-trip hike/trail itinerary.

We have carefully designed and assessed a friendly and manageable route to allow our guests to enjoy Danao’s mountains without compromising safety, comfort, and responsible trail management.

🌿 Our goal is not to limit your adventure. Our goal is to make sure you get to enjoy it safely—and come back ready for another one.

For the safety and proper management of our guests, only registered and officially recognized City Guides are assigned to tourism activities booked through our system.

This is one of the reasons why we strongly recommend that guests book your trail and hiking activities directly with the Danao City Tourism and Development Office.
