The Department of Tourism - Regional Office V urges the public to conduct transactions exclusively with DOT-accredited tourism enterprises to ensure safe, secure, and hassle-free travel experience.
DOT-accredited tourism enterprises undergo rigorous inspection and continuous monitoring to guarantee superior services and top-notch facilities. These establishments are also evaluated to ensure they are equipped with essential safety and security features, prioritizing the well-being of their guests.
In accordance with Article 1998 of the New Civil Code, accommodations are responsible for the safekeeping of personal belongings brought by their guests. However, guests are reminded to notify the management about their valuables and follow the necessary precautions provided by the establishment to safeguard them.
We also call on tourism enterprises, particularly primary tourism enterprises such as, but not limited to, accommodation establishments, travel agencies, tour operators, tour guides, and tourist transport services, to secure DOT accreditation. This serves to guide you in ensuring that your establishment meets the minimum quality standards required for the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of tourists.
Let us work together to elevate and maintain the mandatory quality of our tourism services and facilities enhancing the over-all tourism experience of our visitors ensuring a competitive and sustainable tourism industry in the Bicol region.
