DOT-NIR Regional Director Crisanta Marlene Rodriguez reported that the Negros Island Region recorded a total of 2,745,480 tourist arrivals in 2025, generating an estimated Php 27.6 billion in tourism revenue. Of this total, ๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ accounted for the highest share in the region with ๐๐๐,๐๐๐ visitors, contributing approximately Php ๐๐.๐ billion in estimated tourism receipts.
Tourism receipts refer to the total expenditures of visitors on accommodation, transportation, food and beverages, tours, shopping, entertainment, and other tourism-related services.
Governor Manuel "Chaco" Sagarbarria, together with Provincial Tourism Board Executive Director Woodrow Maquiling Jr., welcomed the positive development and expressed gratitude for the recognition given by the tourism department.
He emphasized that the achievement reflects the strong collaboration among local government units, tourism stakeholders, private businesses, and local communities in advancing the province's tourism industry.
