LOOK | Preparations are underway for the upcoming Dive Dauin Festival 2026 as key stakeholders convened earlier today at the Office of the Mayor in Dauin for a coordination meeting ahead of the June 25โ€“29, 2026 celebration.

The meeting was attended by Acting Mayor Alvin Truita together with representatives from NORDA, PlanOut, and the Provincial and Municipal Tourism Offices to discuss preparations and collaborative efforts for the successful staging of the festival.

Said festival will continue to strengthen Negros Orientalโ€™s position as a premier dive and marine tourism destination while promoting environmental awareness, sustainable tourism, and community participation.

IN PHOTOS | Earlier today, Rajah Tours Philippines President Jose Clemente paid a courtesy visit to Provincial Tourism Board Executive Director Woodrow Maquiling Jr. in preparation for the upcoming Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour scheduled on July 14โ€“17, 2026 in Negros Oriental.

The meeting focused on coordination efforts and preparations for the arrival of approximately 300 participants from the United States as part of the annual VIP Tour program jointly organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Tourism.

The initiative aims to showcase the provinceโ€™s tourism destinations, culture, hospitality, and investment potential to the Filipino-American community and international guests.

DOT-NIR Regional Director Crisanta Marlene Rodriguez reported that the Negros Island Region recorded a total of 2,745,480 tourist arrivals in 2025, generating an estimated Php 27.6 billion in tourism revenue. Of this total, ๐๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ ๐Ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ accounted for the highest share in the region with ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ,๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ visitors, contributing approximately Php ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘.๐Ÿ— billion in estimated tourism receipts.

Tourism receipts refer to the total expenditures of visitors on accommodation, transportation, food and beverages, tours, shopping, entertainment, and other tourism-related services.

Governor Manuel "Chaco" Sagarbarria, together with Provincial Tourism Board Executive Director Woodrow Maquiling Jr., welcomed the positive development and expressed gratitude for the recognition given by the tourism department.

He emphasized that the achievement reflects the strong collaboration among local government units, tourism stakeholders, private businesses, and local communities in advancing the province's tourism industry.
