GUIDE DAVAO proudly joins the grand opening of Mindanao's biggest festival — the Kadayawan Festival 2026! 🎉💚

Our RTG members are not only part of today's grand opening but are also serving as volunteer tour guides at the Kadayawan Cultural Village, where visitors can discover the rich heritage of Davao City's 11 ethnolinguistic groups.

From August 8 to 16, everyone is invited to visit the Kadayawan Cultural Village at Magsaysay Park and enjoy FREE guided tours led by GUIDE DAVAO. Walk through the traditional houses, listen to inspiring stories, and experience the unique culture, traditions, and way of life of our indigenous communities.

Come, celebrate, learn, and experience the true spirit of Kadayawan with us. Together, we honor our culture, embrace our diversity, and celebrate as one.

Your achievement is more than just crossing the finish line—it reflects the same qualities that make an excellent tour guide: endurance, resilience, discipline, determination, and a deep appreciation for nature.

We are proud to celebrate Randy and Janezee for representing not only themselves but also the spirit of GUIDE DAVAO. Our GUIDE DAVAO members visited the newly opened Cris Inn, where we were warmly welcomed by Managing Director Camille Yap and Sales and Marketing Manager Thea Dimaano. We also had the opportunity to enjoy great coffee at Yellow Hauz Coffee with its owners, Wacky and April Masbad, while learning more about Davao's thriving coffee culture.

Our sincere thanks as well to Floreces Tadla of Ces Travel for introducing our tour guides to the Beyond the Cup Coffee Tour. This enriching learning experience gives us a deeper understanding of the journey of Davao coffee—from the farm to the cup—allowing us to share authentic stories and meaningful experiences with our guests.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed the GUIDE DAVAO family. Every familiarization visit strengthens our knowledge and equips us to deliver better, more informed, and more memorable tours for every visitor to Davao.

Our fellow tour guide and his family were recently affected by a devastating fire incident at Matina Gravahan, Davao City which completely destroyed their home and belongings.

In this difficult and heartbreaking time, we are humbly reaching out to our fellow tour guides, tourism stakeholders, colleagues, friends, and kind-hearted individuals for any form of assistance.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 He is a father of two young children, ages 9 and 2, who have also been deeply affected by this tragedy. With their home and belongings completely lost, the family is now facing the difficult task of starting over.

Any amount, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference and help provide for their immediate needs as they begin rebuilding their lives.

The Guides Union for Inbound Destination and Ecotourism (GUIDE Davao) is a not-for-profit organization of whom are professional tourist guides accredited by the Department of Tourism XI.

Our guides are highly trained professionals from diverse backgrounds who have experience conducting tours for visitors from all over the world. GUIDE Davao provides a wide variety of tours throughout Davao Region. GUIDE Davao was founded on March 18, 1999.

The purpose of the Guides Union for Inbound
Destination and Ecotourism (GUIDE Davao) is to represent, promote and protect the common interest of tourist guides in Davao City by:

• Providing a forum to promote the highest degree of professionalism in tourist guides.
• Establishing partnerships and strengthening ties with tourism-related organizations.

GUIDE DAVAO PROUDLY PARTICIPATED IN THE DUAW DABAW: ALL-IN EXPO 2026

GUIDE Davao, the premier organization of professional regional tour guides in the Davao Region, proudly took part in the Duaw Dabaw: All-In Expo held at the Atrium of Ayala Malls Abreeza.

As one of the featured activities of the annual Duaw Dabaw celebration, the expo brings together tourism stakeholders, cultural advocates, creative entrepreneurs, and local communities in showcasing the best that Davao City has to offer.

The event serves as a platform to promote Davao City as a vibrant destination for tourism, arts, culture, gastronomy, and creative industries. It highlights the city's rich heritage, thriving local enterprises, and diverse experiences that continue to attract visitors from across the country and beyond.

Joining GUIDE Davao in the expo are representatives from tourism destinations, accommodation establishments, educational institutions, artists, filmmakers, food producers, and community-based tourism groups—all united in supporting the city's vision of sustainable and inclusive tourism development.

Through this participation, GUIDE Davao reaffirms its commitment to promoting Davao's unique stories, heritage, and destinations while providing visitors with meaningful and memorable travel experiences.

GUIDE Davao was happy to take part in and support the Davao City Chinatown Walking Tour, one of the featured activities of Duaw Davao 2026.

More than 30 participants from different groups joined the tour to discover the history, culture, and local businesses found along the Uyanguren area, one of the busiest parts of Davao City’s Chinatown.

Led by the Davao City Government through the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO), the activity gave both residents and visitors a chance to learn more about the country’s largest Chinatown and its contribution to Davao City’s growth and development.

The walking tour began at the historic Sta. Ana Port, which was once an important center for trade and commerce. Participants then followed the old Uyanguren route, now known as Ramon Magsaysay Avenue.

During the tour, guests visited several well-known landmarks and local establishments, including Farmacia Suy Hoo, NCCC’s first textile store, DCLA, Bohol Trading, Minbaker Snack Haus, Fourth Street Cafe, and the Unity Arch.

According to Gracie Plata of the CTOO, who is also a proud member of GUIDE Davao, the Chinatown Walk was designed to offer a fun and educational cultural experience. It also serves as a pilot activity for the Chinatown Tourism Circuit under the Duaw Davao 2026 program.
