Hidden paradise in Sta. Josefa 😱
a must-visit spot for riders and nature lovers! 🌿
📍 Location: Awao, Sta. Josefa, Agusan Del Sur
💸 Entrance Fee: ₱30 / Parking: Free / No Overnight
🕒 Best time to visit: 7 AM–3 PM
💬How to get there:
From Davao City to Sta. Josefa, it takes around 4 hours to ride smoothly and easily because it’s all a national highway.
From Sta. Josefa town proper, you’ll travel another thirty minutes to reach Awao Falls.
💸Budget tips:
It’s better to bring your own food and drinks.
You can also buy supplies in Sta. Josefa town proper before heading up, since there’s no store near the falls.
You can bring any food you like, no corkage fee or restrictions, but please clean as you go.
They have a big cottage that can fit up to 30 people for ₱200, but if you prefer, there are also free cottages available.
You can even bring your own tent, duyan, or floor mat to relax.
The locals there are kind and helpful; you can ask them if you’re unsure of the way.
💡Advice:
The road is still rough, so I highly recommend using an SUV or motorcycle.
Lowered vehicle not advisable. The barangay road near Awao Falls is undeveloped and a bit challenging.
But don’t worry, just follow Google Maps and search “Awao Falls, Sta. Josefa.” It’s accurate and easy to follow.
Once you arrive, they have a parking area for 4-wheel vehicles. From there, you’ll walk around twenty meters to reach the falls, and if you’re using a motorcycle, you can actually go down to the falls area itself! 🏍️and trust me, it’s worth it.
The ride may be rough, but the view and experience make it all worth it. 🌊
Highly recommended for couples, adventurous individuals, riders’ clubs, and nature lovers. 💚
