"Some viewers mocked the items, saying the printed images looked blurry."

Before the crowds, the recognition, and the nationwide tributes, Rene Baterbonia was simply a son trying to help his family.

During one of his mother's livestreams, Rene personally signed keychains bearing his photo so they could be sold online. Some viewers mocked the items, saying the printed images looked blurry.

But instead of getting discouraged, Rene quietly told his mother:

"Pasagdahi lang na, Ma. Sunod makapalit tag sariling printer para dili na hanap. Nya mamaligya pud ta ug jersey."

What others saw as a blurry keychain, Rene saw as the beginning of something bigger.

It was never just about selling souvenirs. It was about helping his family, building a dream, and believing that better days were ahead.

Today, those simple keychains have become priceless reminders of a young man whose dreams, humility, and determination touched countless lives.

EARTHQUAKE ADVISORY | June 8, 2026

Following the magnitude 6.7 earthquake felt in Davao City at approximately 7:38 AM today, Verdon Parc immediately activated its emergency response protocols.

Residents were safely evacuated to designated assembly areas while the Property Management Office (PMO), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Security Personnel commenced inspections of the property’s facilities and critical building systems. As of this writing, no injuries or casualties have been reported.

Assessments remain ongoing, and residents are advised to remain in designated assembly areas while monitoring for possible aftershocks continues.
