The Provincial Tourism Development and Culture Promotions Office in partnership with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)–Davao del Sur, successfully conducted the ‘Culture Sensitivity Awareness Orientation’ on August 28, 2026, at Almendras Hall, Douglas Ra. Cagas Sports and Business Center, Brgy. Matti, Digos City.
The activity aimed to deepen awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the diverse cultures and heritage of Indigenous Peoples, particularly their traditions, beliefs, practices, stories, and identities. It also serves as an important step toward the establishment of a Provincial Museum, envisioned to become a dedicated space for preserving, documenting, showcasing, and educating the public about the rich cultural heritage of Davao del Sur.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our resource speaker, Ms. Merry Jane Kinoc, Tribal Affairs Assistant II, for sharing her valuable knowledge and insights. This initiative marks another step toward building a museum that will not only preserve our heritage, but also provide future generations with a deeper connection to the culture and history of our province.
