WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN GOING HOME TO DUMAGUETE:
(Also this is specifically for LSIs in Cebu who wants to go home to dumaguete)
Email Address: [email protected]
Phone number: 035 4229409
*Dont call LGU and ask the requirements to go home, theyâll just tell you to check their fb page.
*Dont bother messaging them on facebook, they never reply.
*Find the link on their fb page and fill up the form.
*Dont expect a follow up from them, i waited and apparently, you have to email them pala and confirm that you have filled up the form.
*Dont process your papers just yet. Email LGU and ask for a date to go home (its by batches and biyahi sa Cockaliong is like once a week lang)
*Once you get a date, you can now start processing your medical certificate and swab test (yay)
*Validity of Medical Certificate and Swab test result is 7 days.
*Process everything 7 days before. Youll get the medical certificate and swab test after 2-3 days. I processed mine on the 11th and received both on the 14th. My travel date is 19
*Take a photo of your medical certificate and swabtest and send it to LGU email.
*It takes 48hrs to get an acceptance letter from them (too long tbh)
* if you havenât received it in 48hrs, make sure to follow up. It was my 4th day of waiting for an acceptance letter and they didnt see my email thread. So I had to kulit them on my day of travel. No acceptance letter no travel. Imagine the stress.
*You need to ask every little detail. So make sure to ask what hotels they offer and the room rates. If you dont ask, nganga. Also, you need to ask what boat you are getting on and what time it leaves.
For LSI hotel you have 4 choices
1. Free facility at Dumaguete highschool
2. CNL
3. Grand Pension
4. One bethany
Room rates:
Single 750
Twin 950
Family 1200
*Once you have received your acceptance letter, you can go get your travel authority from PNP.
*Dont expect getting an email of what happens next. Youâre basically on your own at this point.
*Make sure to photocopy all your documents 2x (medcert, swabtest , acceptance letter and travel authority). Original copy is for you, one is for the coastguard to keep. One is for the Cockaliong ticketing office. If you have it photocopied in the port and you are on a budget, its mahal.
20 pesos if you need to pa print a document sa computer and 5 pesos each page to pa photocopy. 200-250 total.
*No one told me I had to go early and line to give your documents to the coastguard. (Be careful sa port guys, fixers and vendors dont wear masks, crowded pa) super not safe so go there in full gear and bring alcohol.
*Also, watch out for fixers. If youre in line trying to get your documents stamped by the coastguard, youll see fixers cut the line and pa process their documents first.
*After all that hassle, you can now get your ticket. Cockaliong prices :
economy -350 - no a/c
tourist -680 - w/ a/c
suite - 4,200 - private room 2 beds
*Once youâve got your ticket, you can go home and rest or wait in the port until its time to leave
*Our boat left at 8pm and we arrived at 3am.
*When getting down, there is no social distancing, people push eachother to get off the boat. So i suggest you get down last.
*Once you are off the boat, youll form a line and step away from your belongings as they spray and disinfect.
*Youll then find yourself lost and clueless of what to do next because there was no instructions of what to expect or do next
*You then have to form a line. Make sure you are lining for the right tent. There was one for Dumaguete and one for other provinces.
*Dont lose the original copies of your documents, they will need to check it.
*Dont bother choosing a hotel pala. I picked Royal Suites inn, but on the last minute, we were booked pala in CNL because of availability issues. There was no email to inform me that Royal suites wasnt available. We found out on the spot upon giving our documents.
*We get on the bus and finally get to CNL.
*When we got to the hotel, rooms were not ready. Mind you, it was already 6am and a bit irritable. If youre booked in CNL, expect 14 days of total boredom. THEY HAVE NO WIFI and data doesnt work. Front desk was helpful but they couldnt do anything but turn the modem on and off. Second day no wifi honestly drove me crazy na
*Phoned up royal suites inn and asked if there was an available room and they said they had one all this time.
*Called LGU informing them the âconditionâ of the hotel, and i was answered with âjust to remind you maam, youâre not on vacationâ huwaw. đ zero f***s given
*No meal was arranged at all. Foodpanda allday errday lang..
*LGU stated that all family rooms are 1,200 but upon checkout its 1250
This is just a guide to help everyone who wants to go home cos i was so stressed following up, asking questions one by one and the whole process was honestly a nightmare. The system is flawed but I hope this will serve as room for improvement. Was i stressed? Yes. Was i hop
