Many times in life, things don't go as planned. We have been blessed with so many fine friends and honored to be a part of the Doctors Without Borders and ACF recovery efforts after typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). Since Typhoon Yolanda Joel's health has been declining rapidly. He has been in treatment and after several years is finally showing some recovery.
Because his health has restricted his mobility we have had to close our little tour business. We will sell our lot on Bayas Island. It has a rest house that seats about 20, a CR with change room, a stone d**e, and 17 - 10 year old Date Palms from Abu Dhabi. Those Date Palms should begin to bear fruit within a few years. We wanted to make our 270 Sq. Meter lot the first Date Farm in the Philippines. Hopefully the new owner will want to continue our work.

We had a chance to spend the weekend at our favorite Beach Resort.
Pa-on Beach Resort has been very busy improving and expanding since Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
They are starting to open the all new third floor.
The new rooms are modern, comfortable, and named after Islands in the area.
The views are spectacular.
So if you are traveling to the area for weekend Island tours or just want a weekend with your loved-ones, we highly recommend Pa-on Beach Resort.

2016 has started in good fashion.
We enjoyed a nice tour of the Estancia Islands and took a break for some kayaking at our Bayas Island rest house and Date Palm Ranch.
We hope our new friends had a most marvelous adventure.

Bayas Island update.
Today we finished installing the toilet, and mounted the last tarog (gutter).
Next is the lababo (sink) and Tanke (rain water collection tank).
If you have been following our Date Palm planting, you can see how big they are getting.
We had one attacked by a coconut beetle!
It destroyed the new growth in the center of the tree!
We are praying that it will recover.
