Please be advised that PHIVOLCS has issued Tsunami Advisory No. 2 following a magnitude 8.7 earthquake off Kamchatka, Russia. 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐧𝐨 𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟑𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧.
Wave activity less than 1 meter above normal sea level may be observed between 1:20 PM and 2:40 PM, possibly lasting several hours.
⚠️ Affected areas in Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, and Biliran are advised to:
• Stay away from beaches and coastal waters
• Watch out for unusual wave behavior and strong currents
• Move inland if residing near the shoreline
• Monitor updates from PHIVOLCS, LGUs, and DRRMCs
