I cannot tell you how much I love this island and the amazing friends we made while here ❤️ We had so many delicious home cooked meals, the BEST surf instructors around, and met jellyfish THAT DON'T STING! WHAT?!

I can't believe we almost didn't come here! But, I'm SO grateful we did! It's one of those special places that you'll never forget and that I MUST go back to soon!

🏖️Mam on island.. A beautiful rolling beach of white sand and tranquil waters. A remote island with only few inhabitants. With recreation like swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding and surfing.
Mam on island is located in Brgy. Suyangan, General Luna, Siargao, Surigao del Norte and is about an hour trip on a boat from town proper.
Mam On island offers picturesque scenery, beautiful beaches, amazing coves, magical blue waters and tons of adventure.
📳Mobile network is hard in this area. So you can use it mostly for taking pictures and videos.
🔌They use Generators for their electricity and switch on during night time for energy saving.
🏠The place is surrounded by a community, it is advantage if you have common friend or family to this area to stay with. Or else bring your own personal tent and set up on the beach.
🎭Mini stores are available for your personal needs.
🚽No public toilet available in this area. Unless you ask favor from some residences.
📌How to Get there?
👉From General Luna, Siargao, Surigao del Norte goin to Mam on takes 1hr to travel by the sea.
👉The best way to get out to Mam-On would be to chat with the tour operator and convince them to switch up the itinerary to include Mam-On and La Januza instead of Daku and Guyam. For less than $25 USD, you can book your island hopping tour. It is possible to book a private boat tour but this will be much more expensive. There are no public transportation options.
👉Make sure the weather is good for safety travels and easy access to the sea.
👉HEALTH PROTOCOLS For Covid19 is still a must in this place.
👉Or other way around, Some people rent boats from different ports of surigao del Sur like Tandag City, Cortes and Cantilan. Which takes almost 3-4hrs travel goin to Suyangan and Mam on islands and depends on the weather.
