For the first time, we have completed the 9 Nights Simbang Gabi in our 36 years of marraige. This , despite the hitches like the rain and shoes mishap.
When situations are temptations to stop us from attending the Novena masses, the voice of the Lord telling us what to do is stronger than any setback confronting us.
What is significant of this completion is not the granting of our wishes by the Lord.
It is a show of love and devotion to our Mother Mary who made sure she will be the mother of our redeemer.
The feeling is ecstatic.

Grateful and thankful.
Reconnecting with pals and buddies of 45 years was spectacular for the "awesome men of batch 79".
The bonding on its second year has bestowed nothing but a genuine friendship.
Indeed, reconnecting with old friends is like opening a time capsule.
A time-capsuled memory blast deluged with laughter, non-stop recalls, and valuable inputs.
When high school friends met again, it was an explosion- and not mindful of the receding hair crowns, varying waistlines, distinctive medications and health challenges. It was a high- spirited exchanges and story-telling about friendship and camaraderie that extend through the nights.
With respective amazing spouses in tow, a new couple-community blooms and grows.
Thank you Neil and Anne for conceiving this annual get-together and crossing miles to be with old friends.
To the Awesome and Amazing men and women , thank you for making this happen and sharing your valuable time and resources. Most of all, thank you for the FRIENDSHIP.

Is retirement scary?
It is a major life change and the journey while maybe exciting, can also be unnerving.
My biggest challenge for our retirement is how to age gracefully, graciously and live a life of joy and peace.
Now that we are detached from the work place we spent most our years, and also away from the kids, how do we live our senior years ? just the two of us?
So we decided to just be - to live, to love, to laugh and be YOUNG AGAIN.

We are not used opening gifts during christmas eve . We bought gifts for ourselves based on our needs and the kids enjoyed ( not really sure now 😅) that way. We all have our own budget every Christmas to buy for whatever we want and need.
But when our kids are away now, we are forced to open the gifts they sent only on Christmas eve, as per their request.
And I realized that it is exciting to wait until we can open the gifts. What a privilege to experience this as seniors.

We were able to conquer the winding and dimly-lit road for 18 grueling minutes. We did it by tailgating a slow-moving massive tanker on a moonless night through a mountain highway.
God’s embrace keeps us safe in dark moments and close calls.
