Barangay Officials of the Municipality gathered for the Regular Monthly LIGA ng mga Barangay Meeting together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Held in the spirit of collaboration and progress, the session focused on governance updates, community priorities, and the shared commitment to empower every barangay.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Ilocos Sur, through Cluster Leader Aprille Regina Guerrero, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Gregorio del Pilar, successfully conducted an Executive Briefing aimed at strengthening local governance and ensuring the alignment of local initiatives with national directives.

The activity served as a platform to discuss key performance indicators, priority programs, compliance with DILG mandates, and the formulation of responsive local policies and strategies.

Municipal department heads and officials actively participated in the discussions, reaffirming their commitment to efficient governance and inclusive development for the constituents of Gregorio del Pilar.

𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) – Region 1, under the leadership of Regional Director 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐀𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨 𝐃. 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐨𝐠, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Gregorio del Pilar headed by Municipal Mayor 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐁. 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐫., successfully conducted a significant meeting focused on the formulation and harmonization of local guidelines for the selection of the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) for the municipality.

The activity aimed to ensure a culturally sensitive, inclusive, and community-based process in accordance with national policies and the rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs).

The gathering served as a platform for consultation, collaboration, and mutual understanding among stakeholders, as the municipality takes proactive steps toward empowering the IP sector and promoting inclusive governance in Gregorio del Pilar.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Gregorio del Pilar headed by Municipal Vice Mayor 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐲 𝐒. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨, proudly participated in the SIGLAT Competition as part of the SIGLAT Festival 2025 organized by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur.

As one of the participating Local Government Units, the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan was evaluated by representatives from the Provincial Government based on key performance indicators that highlight excellence in local legislation, transparency, innovation, and citizen engagement.

This participation underscores the municipality's commitment to effective governance and its continuous pursuit of excellence in public service under the leadership of Municipal Mayor 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐁. 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐫.

The SIGLAT Festival serves as a celebration of good governance and best practices among the different municipalities in the province.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted the presentation of preliminary results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in partnership with the Municipal Planning and Development Office, headed by Mr. Pedrito T. Dukey.

The activity aims to provide data-driven insights to support evidence-based planning and development programs in the municipality.

The Philippine Statistics Authority–Region 1, through the leadership of Atty. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐎. 𝐃𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐳𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐂𝐏𝐀, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Gregorio del Pilar under the leadership of Municipal Mayor 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐁. 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐫., and the Municipal Civil Registrar’s Office headed by Mr. 𝐑𝐞𝐱𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐧, is currently distributing Birth Certificates to the beneficiaries under the PSA’s Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), reaffirming the commitment to accessible and inclusive civil registration for all.

DSWD UNO INFORMATION PRESS || LGU Gregorio del Pilar and other Local Government Units, alongside members of the media. This collaborative event serves as a crucial platform to delve into the DSWD's core programs and emphasize the vital role of LGUs in their successful implementation.

The press briefing provided in-depth information on the following:
* Disaster Response Management Division: A key focus will be on strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms. Discussions will highlight how the DSWD works in close partnership with LGUs, like Gregorio del Pilar, to build community resilience, streamline aid delivery, and ensure efficient recovery efforts in times of crisis. This division's aim is to foster a "whole-of-nation" approach to disaster management.

* Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps): We will explore the ongoing impact of the 4Ps in alleviating poverty by providing conditional cash grants for health, nutrition, and education. The crucial involvement of LGUs in identifying eligible households and monitoring compliance to ensure the program's effectiveness will be underscored.

* Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP): This segment will showcase how the SLP empowers individuals and families through livelihood and employment opportunities. The DSWD will elaborate on its partnership with LGUs in implementing various modalities, such as micro-enterprise development and employment facilitation, to foster economic self-sufficiency at the local level.

* Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC): The press will receive updates on the SPISC, a vital program that provides monthly stipends to eligible indigent senior citizens. The coordinated efforts between the DSWD and LGUs, including their respective Offices for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCAs) and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs), in the identification, validation, and payout of beneficiaries will be highlighted.

* Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS): We will discuss the immediate and integrated support provided by AICS to individuals and families facing unexpected crises. The press will learn how LGUs are instrumental in facilitating access to financial, medical, burial, and other forms of assistance, serving as frontline responders in critical situations.

In a productive session at the Farmer’s Building II, barangay captains, Sangguniang Bayan representatives, accredited NGOs, and key agency delegates came together to review the Annual Investment Plan (AIP) and prioritized key projects in the Municipality.

By aligning financial planning tools and inclusive governance, this milestone meeting sets a strong foundation for participatory, data-driven development in Gregorio del Pilar.

After the weekly flag raising ceremony, the Municipal Employees of Gregorio del Pilar gathered in solemn prayer to bless and dedicate the newly arrived Patient Transport Vehicle.

This meaningful moment was filled with gratitude and hope, as the workforce united in prayer for the safety of every patient who will be served by the vehicle and for the continued strength of those who will operate it.

The Local Government remains steadfast in its commitment to improving healthcare services and emergency response for the people of Gregorio del Pilar. May this new vehicle serve as a symbol of compassion, progress, and care for every life it touches.
