: PHILIPPINES NOW HAS AN OFFICIAL COUNT OF 7,641 ISLANDS

The Philippines is no longer listed with 7,107 islands. According to the latest mapping update from NAMRIA, the official number has increased to 7,641 islands.

Using advanced satellite technology, experts identified hundreds of previously unrecorded islets across the archipelago. Most of these newly mapped islands are small, uninhabited, and scattered across the country’s vast waters — from white sand pockets to hidden lagoons waiting to be explored.

This updated count further highlights the Philippines as a true paradise of thousands of islands, each adding to the nation’s rich natural beauty.
