Standing at approximately 100 feet high, Nadsadjan Falls is one of the premier ecotourism destinations in Igbaras. Its scenic beauty with a giant cauldron-like natural pool, and relatively accessible location make it an ideal destination for families, nature lovers, and adventure seekers.
The name "Nadsadjan" is believed to have originated from the Kinaray-a term "nagapanadsad," meaning "dragging" or "gliding along the ground," in reference to the waterfall's cascading waters that appear to gracefully sweep across the rocky surface.
Adding to the mystique of the falls is a local legend about a lunok tree near the waterfall. Residents recount that a visitor once reported seeing the figure of a woman while taking photographs in the area. Though regarded as folklore, many locals believe the mysterious woman to be the spiritual guardian of Nadsadjan Falls, making the story an enduring part of the townโs cultural heritage.
To reach Nadsadjan Falls, visitors may take a tricycle or habal-habal from Igbaras Municipal Hall to Barangay Passi, the designated jump-off point, which is approximately 15โ20 minutes away. From Barangay Passi, a 15โ20-minute light to moderate hike is expected, depending on one's pace, through a trail leads to the waterfall.
Whether for a relaxing picnic, a refreshing swim, or simply immersing oneself in nature, Nadsadjan Falls offers an unforgettable outdoor experience and is proudly recognized as one of Iloilo's must-visit waterfalls.
