Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized in 1994. It is a popular tourist destination located in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. Ha Long Bay covers an area of 1,553 square kilometers (km²), including around 1,960 to 2,000 islands and islets, most of which are limestone. The main area of the bay spans about 334 square kilometers (km²) and includes 775 islets. The limestone islands here have been formed over nearly 500 million years.
