A daughter—of a father who once led this town with fire in his chest and love in his hands.
A father whose journey in politics ended not in celebration, but in silence. The weight of public service, the harshness of the game—it cost him more than most will ever understand.

Now, her mother carries the torch he lit, And she? She doesn’t walk beside their legacy—she leads it now, with courage not loud, but lived.

She’s also a sister, a friend. A Korean drama lover who lets herself escape into stories that make her feel something beyond responsibility. “Lopez Jaena Voted—and It Spoke Loudly”

Let’s not sugarcoat it—this election was messy. It was emotional. And in many ways, it exposed how deeply personal politics has become in our small town.

What was once a quiet rivalry became a public narrative, with social media as its stage. Jay Bergado, once part of Team Asenso and even Acting Mayor, went head-to-head against his former allies. He aligned with Menchie Anne Gutierrez running for councilor under Team Abante —daughter of the late Mayor Michael Pasiol Gutierrez—On the other side, Mayor Pinky Gutierrez carried the torch of her father’s legacy. Bloodlines crossed with ballot lines. Politics turned personal.

The result? A campaign that leaned more on calling out opponents than presenting clear, grounded plans. Social media became a circus, not a conversation. The “Ohahay” is louder than the clear solutions to our real problems.

But now that the voices have quieted and the votes are counted, we ask ourselves: What do we do with the silence that follows the noise?

We build. We heal. We pray.

Let us not remain trapped in bitterness. Let us choose the harder, more courageous path—kindness. Our community needs listening more than lecturing. Collaboration more than conflict.

Progress will not come from victory alone, but from a shared willingness to dream and do—together.

Lopez Jaena, Misamis Occidental – Opisyal nang gipadayag nga napili nga Mayor sa Lopez Jaena si Andrea “Pinky” Gutierrez human sa pormal nga proklamasyon sa Municipal Board of Canvassers niadtong alas 2:52 sa kaadlawon, Mayo 13, 2025.

Base sa opisyal nga Certificate of Canvass of Votes (CEF No. 25), si Gutierrez nakadaug og 10,247 ka boto, ang labing taas nga gidaghanon sa tanang kandidato sa mayoral race sa lungsod.

Ang resulta gikan sa 35 ka clustered precincts nagpakita sa lig-on nga suporta sa mga Lopez Jaenahan alang sa lider nga nailhan sa tinuod nga serbisyo ug matinud-anong pagdumala. Ilawom sa Team Asenso Lopez Jaena (ASPIN), si Mayor Pinky nakadawat og klaro ug limpyo nga mandato gikan sa katawhan.

“Dili lang kini akong kadaogan—kadaogan ni nato tanan nga nagtoo nga posible ang kausaban kung aduna’y tinud-anay nga serbisyo,” matod ni Gutierrez human sa proklamasyon.

Pinaagi sa pormal nga proseso sa COMELEC, gipamatud-an sa Board of Canvassers nga hapsay ug lig-on ang dagan sa eleksyon ug pag-ihap sa boto. Gipaabot sa mga supporters ang ilang kalipay ug pasalamat sa malungtarong suporta alang sa mayor nga padayon ang serbisyo nga walay kapili-pili.

Padayon ang Asenso. Padayon ang tinud-anay nga pag-alagad. Congratulations, Mayor Pinky Gutierrez!
