Pamunit Fishing Festival Iloilo

1st Pamunit Festival Iloilo is a non-stock, non-profit association of anglers sharing the same passion with our seas. Our advocacy is “Marine conservation thru Sustainable Fishing Practice”. We aim to promote our advocacy by hosting fishing competitions in rehabilitated marine areas. Recently, in coordination with BFAR 6 and Mun of Oton, Iloilo, we have dropped 200 artificial reefs in the municipa

l waters of Oton to serve as fishing site for the fishing competition. Part of the tournament goal is to educate both marginal and recreational fishermen the benefits of marine conservation which is providing additional income from the events to marginal fishermen thru eco tourism and promoting catch and release to recreational fishermen.
