China Dominates Global Car Production in 2024, Asia Leads the Pack
New data for 2024 reveals China as the undisputed leader in global car production, manufacturing an astounding 31,281,592 vehicles. This figure dwarfs that of the second-largest producer, Japan, which produced 8,234,681 units.
The statistics, which encompass passenger cars, light commercial vehicles we, minibuses, trucks, buses, and coaches, highlight Asia's significant role in the automotive industry. Following China and Japan, India secures the third spot with 6,014,691 vehicles, while South Korea ranks fourth with 4,127,252.
Other notable Asian producers include Thailand (1,468,997), Indonesia (1,196,664), and Malaysia (790,347). Turkey, situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, also features prominently with 1,365,296 units, and Iran produced 1,077,839 vehicles.
The data, sourced from the World Population Review, underscores a clear trend: Asian nations are at the forefront of global automotive manufacturing, with China leading by a substantial margin.
