Liberation of Panay

In 1989, then-President Corazon Aquino issued Proclamation No. 430 or "An Act Declaring March 18 of every year as Victory Day in the Islands of Panay and Romblon including the cities of Iloilo and Roxas", declaring it a special non-working holiday for the three islands.[1] The proclamation said in part, "March 18, 1945 is of great historical and sentimental significance to both the veterans and the people of Panay and Romblon because it was the day when the Panay Guerilla Forces launched the final assault on the Japanese Imperial Armed Forces,"[2] Guimaras is included in the proclamation since it was part of Iloilo province in 1989.

📢 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 (𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐃)📢

All Department Heads, Employees, and Job Hires of the Municipality of Janiuay are advised to participate in the Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12, 2026 (Thursday) at 3:30 PM, in accordance with NDRRMC Memorandum No. 027, s. 2025.

Participants are requested to assemble in front of the New Municipal Building at 2:30 PM to take part in the drill. This activity aims to strengthen preparedness and ensure that everyone is equipped with the proper knowledge and response in the event of an earthquake.

Department Heads are also directed to designate a skeletal force to remain on standby and continue essential office operations during the conduct of the drill.

Let us all work together in promoting disaster preparedness and safety in our workplace and community. ⚠️🏢

Snacks will be provided for the participants.
