Kiamba once again showcased the beauty and potential of its rich marine biodiversity as the Department of Tourism - Soccsksargen Office, together with the Philippine Technical Divers, Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape, and Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao, successfully conducted the Dive SOX: Exploratory Dive Assessment at selected dive sites in Kiamba, Sarangani, for the observance of Ocean Month 2026.

The two-day assessment highlighted the municipality’s vibrant underwater treasures and gathered valuable data and references for the future development and promotion of potential dive destinations in Kiamba.

Together, we continue to strengthen marine conservation, sustainable tourism, and the promotion of Kiamba as an emerging dive destination in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.

The Municipality of Kiamba proudly welcomed the Department of Tourism Region XII, together with the Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape, Philippine Technical Divers, and the Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao, for the Dive SOX: Exploratory Dive Assessment Leg in Kiamba from May 21-22, 2026.

This activity was made possible through the support and courtesy of the Local Government Unit of Kiamba led by Hon. George F. Falgui. The delegation was warmly received by Municipal Administrator Designate, Alfredo C. Balanag, reflecting the municipality’s continued commitment to marine conservation and sustainable tourism development.

The conducted dive assessment will serve as an important basis for future data gathering and references in identifying and developing potential dive destinations in Kiamba. This initiative aims to strengthen the municipality’s eco-tourism opportunities while promoting the protection and preservation of its rich marine biodiversity.
