Shontog-Pine Eco-Park

Shontog-Pine Eco-Park "Khalejo" (come) Shontog is the ibaloy word for mountain. Shontog-Pine is a coined word meaning Mountain filled with Pine Trees.

Shontog-Pine Eco Park's mission is to tell the story of humanity's historical relationship with nature, fostering respect and connection to nature through care, best management practices and responsible interaction with living beings. Shontog Pine Eco Park area is about 14 hectares of Pine Tree filled mountain behind Benguet Capitol. The main purpose of operating this as an eco-park is an attempt

to preserve the forest. The mountain has served and is still serving as a watershed. In fact, LTWD has a big tank on the road, sipping water from the mountain. Likewise the surrounding members of the community depends on the waters from this mountain. In addition, people from other towns also come here to fetch water for its natural healing properties. The mountain will not only be a walking destination but students who shall enroll can learn about nature also enrolling in some of our programs such as the Basic Mountaineering Course, Survival Skills Course and many other courses that we are about to offer.
