THE LONGER WAIT IS OVER. Starting 01 October 2018, passports would be available in as early as six working days as the DFA shortens the releasing period for passport applicants in the Philippines.

Secretary Cayetano: We made a promise to the President and to our kababayan that we will work hard to give them fast, efficient, and secure passport services... Shortening the length of time our kababayan would have to wait before they could receive their passports is part of that promise.

INFOGRAPHIC: Starting 14 May 2019, the DFA will no longer issue Authentication Certificates and will instead affix an Apostille to authenticated documents for use abroad.

As of May 2019, these are the countries and territories where the Philippine Apostille will be honored. If you are using your document in these countries, there is no more need for legalization by the Embassies or Consulates of these countries in the Philippines.

Conversely, public documents executed in these countries and territories that will be used in the Philippines no longer have to be authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate once Apostillized.

This morning, I woke up at 4AM to watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat, and I was quickly accompanied by 6,000 tourists, pushing and shoving their way to get the perfect shot of the temple's reflection over the pond.

The truth is, this situation exists at any big landmark/tourist attraction that is located in an easily accessible country.

BUT IS THIS SUCH A BAD THING?

Too many people speak negatively about 'touristy places' -- like Bali or Bangkok. But do you realize how important tourism is for these local economies? Moreover, do you realize WHY a place becomes touristy in the first place? Because it is THAT amazing to see!

This video explains my opposing argument about why tourists DO NOT ruin travel. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter.

See, before I started Nas Daily, I couldn't place the Philippines on the map.
I knew nothing about "these people". But slowly and surely I started to get to know more and more Filipinos in every new country I visit only to realize that:

1. There are 10 million overseas Filipinos in over 100 countries
2. They are working really hard to contribute to local economies without getting the recognition they deserve.
3. They always welcomed me with a smile. Like...always. And that brightened my day every time!

After meeting so many of them in the super remote town of Broome in Australia (apprently they came here to support the local Pearling economy ages ago)...I was determined to make this video!

Thank you all for being so friendly, welcmoing. and all around amazing!
