Laoag city, the capital of Ilocos Norte can be proud to say that it has one of the few International Airports located in the country which, at its time of construction, one of the most beautiful and the only International Airport outside of the Manila International Airport. Marcos had it improved and what it is now was then the airport as envisioned by the President, as part of the North Quadrangle program including highways from Manila to the tip of Northern Luzon. Presently, the airport terminal complex has now two terminals buildings, with the recent addition of an arrival building to accommodate local and international passengers from Asia, namely China, Hongkong, Taipei. Tourism had taken an active role in the over-all economic development of the nation and without transportation, via Air or land it would be a failure. However recognizing the potentials of the Laoag International airport as a gateway to the pristine, natural scenic tourist spots of Northern Luzon, Philippine Airlines, together with the Cebu Pacific Air had made it their, then and only Airlines destination to the north in Ilocos Norte which eventually led to the opening of other airports such as Tuguegarao and Cauayan in Cagayan as well as in Basco Batanes. iLOWCOaST Travel and Tours is just a late bloomer in the travel and tour industry In Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. A slow and steady growth and “service oriented” operation with the customer satisfaction as a prime object has placed it where it is now.
