Cave Diving in the Philippines

Lake Carolina, located in Baganga, Davao Oriental, features a unique underwater cave system explored by Filipino cave divers. The lake spans around 100 meters with limestone walls reaching 15 meters deep, and an aquifer expels water at about three cubic meters per second. During high tide, seawater flows in, stabilizing the underwater current and facilitating cave exploration. Diving expeditions here reveal fascinating geological formations and fish species, making Lake Carolina a destination for experienced divers interested in deep and challenging cave systems.

In cooperation with our friends at Surigao City, we invite you to explore the captivatingly beautiful deep shoals, reefs, walls, and wrecks of Surigao del Norte.

WHAT: DEEP EXTENDED RANGE, SURIGAO

WHEN: Available from July to October 2024

HOW: Minimum of 6 pax 55K per person (includes use of vans and boats, tanks, fees, packed lunch during dives, hotel+bfast). *Flights and dinner, own arrangement

SAMPLE SCHEDULE:

DAY 1 (ARRIVAL)
- From Manila, Arrive via Butuan, van to Surigao, gear prep, overnight Hotel Tavern
- From Cebu, Arrive to Surigao via plane or boat
*Dinner at Surigao Boulevard

Day 2 (2 dives)
- 6am Early Hotel buffet bfast
- AM Dive 1, Cagtinae Shoal (50m, twin rocks with abundant reef fish)
- PM Dive 2, Karihatag Shoal (50m, vertical wall dive with abundant reef fish)
- 4PM, Dip at Daydream pool/sauna & view Sunset
*Dinner at Surigao Boulevard

DAY 3 (2 dives)
- 6am Early Hotel buffet bfast
- AM Dive 1, Cantrasa Shoal (50m, current wall dive with abundant reef fish)
- PM Dive 2, Aleson Wreck in Taganito (50m, cargo ship, 65 meter length, sunk in 2011)
*Dinner at Surigao Boulevard

DAY 4 (DEPARTURE)
- 6am to 10am Hotel buffet Bfast
- Depart Surigao via van to Butuan Airport, back to Manila (preferably last flight 8pm departure)

- AIR, 2x11L for 50m max. depth
- EANx50, 1x11L for 21m stop
- O2, 1x6L for 6m stop
- Typical runtime of 60 minutes
