𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Seminar Successfully Conducted

The Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Seminar was successfully conducted yesterday, July 15, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Building, Lasam, Cagayan, through the initiative of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2.

The seminar formally opened with welcome remarks from Hon. Dannah Paula T. Agatep, Municipal Vice Mayor of Lasam, followed by a keynote message from Ms. Jenifer Junio Baquiran, Provincial Tourism Officer, and an inspirational message delivered by Hon. Wilson Constantino, SB Member for Municipal Tourism.
The learning sessions were facilitated by Ms. Eunice M. Tarun, Tourism Operations Officer I of DOT Region 2, and Ms. Fanibeth T. Domingo, Regional FBSE Trainer, who discussed the fundamentals of the Philippine tourism industry, Filipino hospitality, service excellence, the G.U.E.S.T. Steps to Service Excellence, the Mabuhay and Salamat Gestures, the 5As of Local Tourism, and the H.E.A.R.T. Method for effective service recovery.

The activity ended with the closing remarks of Dir. Troy Alexander G. Miano, Regional Director of DOT Region 2, followed by the awarding ceremony.

The activity equipped participants with valuable knowledge and practical skills to deliver exceptional customer service, reinforcing Lasam's commitment to promoting a culture of genuine Filipino hospitality and providing quality service that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.

𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐎, 𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐄 | 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐦'𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬

As part of the Cacao Launching and the municipality's celebration of World Chocolate Day, locally crafted cacao products were proudly showcased, highlighting the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of the people of Lasam.

The product exhibit featured a wide array of cacao-based products from the Cagayan State University (CSU)–Lasam Campus, the Natalged A Lasam Cacao Growers Association (NALACASACO), the Alternative Learning System (ALS), and the Natalged Women Association. From handcrafted chocolates and tablea to other value-added cacao products, each display reflected the dedication and hard work of local farmers, educators, women's groups, and community organizations in promoting Lasam's growing cacao industry.

Their participation demonstrates the power of collaboration among educational institutions, farmers' organizations, women's associations, and community partners in transforming locally grown cacao into high-quality products that create livelihood opportunities and add value to the municipality's agricultural resources.

Through the active participation of the Municipal Tourism Office, the event also emphasized the potential of cacao as a tourism product, opening opportunities to promote Lasam not only as an agricultural municipality but also as a destination for local products and unique cultural experiences.

The Local Government Unit of Lasam extends its heartfelt appreciation to CSU–Lasam Campus, NALACASACO, the Alternative Learning System (ALS), and the Natalged Women Association for their invaluable contribution to the success of the event and for their unwavering support in advancing Lasam's vision of becoming a recognized cacao-producing municipality.

Together, we are cultivating not only cacao but also opportunities, partnerships, and a brighter future for every Lasameño.

In line with its commitment to providing quality education and empowering future civil servants, the Local Government Unit of Lasam officially launches its FREE Civil Service Examination (CSE) Review Sessions on June 26–27, 2026, under Project DEKSS (Developing and Empowering Knowledge and Skills Seekers).

Spearheaded by Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep and Vice Mayor Dannah Paula T. Agatep, this initiative is designed to help aspiring civil servants become well-prepared, confident, and equipped for the upcoming Civil Service Examination.

With the inspiring theme, “HanDANNAH para sa CSE,” LGU-Lasam continues to invest in the growth, development, and success of every Lasameño by providing accessible learning opportunities that strengthen knowledge and skills.

Through Project DEKSS, the municipality reaffirms its dedication to nurturing capable individuals and supporting community members in achieving their professional goals.
