Vice Mayor Agatep Leads “Little LGU Officials” in Celebration of Legislators’ Month
Lasam, Cagayan – October 7, 2025. Hon. Dannah Paula T. Agatep, Municipal Vice Mayor of Lasam, spearheaded the Little LGU Officials program in celebration of Legislators’ Month in the Philippines. The event gathered Grade 3 pupils from all 30 barangays of Lasam.
The activity featured a general information quiz bee, followed by a self-introduction segment where participants shared their aspirations of becoming future public servants. The top two pupils were proclaimed as Little Mayor and Little Vice Mayor, while the rest assumed roles as Little Sangguniang Bayan Members and Little Department Heads.
Through this initiative, the designated Little LGU Officials were given the chance to immerse in the different offices of the Local Government Unit, providing them with first-hand experience of public service. The program seeks to inspire young Lasameños to embrace leadership, responsibility, and the essence of being a public servant in the future.
Among the participants, ZYNAH GLEYN R. QUEBRAL of Nabannagan Elementary School , Lasam, Cagayan, was chosen as Little Tourism Officer and was formally escorted by Mr. Elmer A. Acierto, the Municipal Tourism Officer of Lasam. During her engagement, she visited several of Lasam’s tourism sites, promoted the municipality’s prime product—the Tinupig, and concluded her tour at Natalged Park, one of the flagship tourism infrastructure projects of Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep. She also took memorable photos at Lasam Rizal Park.
The Little LGU Officials program underscores the commitment of the Local Government of Lasam to nurture the youth as future leaders and advocates of public service.

VICE MAYOR DANNAH AGATEP MARKS HER FIRST 100 DAYS IN OFFICE

LASAM, CAGAYAN | October 8, 2025 – A fresh chapter of leadership continues to unfold in Lasam as Vice Mayor Dannah Paula T. Agatep proudly delivered her First 100 Days Report at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall.

The momentous event was attended by the first family led by Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep, together with barangay leaders, DepEd officials, stakeholders, and LGU department heads—signifying the strong support behind the Vice Mayor’s vision for Lasam.

In just 100 days, Vice Mayor Agatep has already made remarkable strides:
✅ Relevant ordinances to protect and support the elderly
✅ Launch of a Reading Caravan that brings the joy of learning to young schoolchildren
✅ Programs and initiatives that reflect her campaign battle cry for inclusive and future-ready governance

The 4th North Luzon Travel Expo (NLTEx) Opens in Tuguegarao City

The 4th North Luzon Travel Expo (NLTEx) officially opened yesterday, October 3, at SM City Tuguegarao, Tuguegarao City, carrying the theme “Heritage in Motion: Celebrating Champions of Culture and Tourism.”

The ceremony commenced with the unveiling of the tourism champions and cultural bearers of North Luzon, in recognition of their vital role in safeguarding heritage and advancing the region’s tourism industry.

In her recorded message from Bogo City, Cebu, Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco emphasized the significance of North Luzon in shaping the nation’s tourism landscape. Representing the Secretary was DOT Undersecretary Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar.

Messages of support and commitment were also delivered by Presidential Assistant for North Luzon Asec. Ana Carmela V. Remigio, Cagayan Governor Edgar Aglipay, Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que, and DOT Region 2 Director Troy Alexander G. Miano.

The event was further graced by DOT Assistant Secretary Judilyn S. Quiachon, DOT-CAR Director Jovita A. Ganongan, DOT Region 1 OIC Director Evangeline M. Dadat, DOT Region 3 Director Richard G. Daenos, and DOT Region 9 Director Dara May L. Cataluña, along with representatives from the public sector, tourism stakeholders, and media partners.

Their collective presence set the stage for a meaningful celebration of North Luzon’s vibrant cultural heritage and dynamic tourism sector.

The Local Government Unit of Lasam proudly congratulates the Natalged A Lasam Bamboo Growers Association for the successful launching of locally made bamboo products held on September 30, 2025, at the Kadiwa Store, Centro 2, Lasam, Cagayan in celebration of this year’s Bamboo month.

The event was graced by the active and supportive Municipal Mayor, Hon. Dante Dexter A. Agatep, together with partner agencies such as the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and the Municipal Tourism Office.

Throughout the day, the venue welcomed a large number of walk-in visitors and customers, a clear sign of the community’s growing appreciation for local products and homegrown craftsmanship. The showcase featured a wide range of bamboo-based items—from household essentials to decorative pieces—highlighting the creativity and skill of Lasam’s weavers.

As part of his continuing advocacy, Mayor Agatep encouraged the planting of bamboo across the locality, emphasizing not only its value as a high-yield crop but also its long-term potential for sustainable livelihood and environmental protection.

This successful launching marks another milestone in Lasam’s commitment to promoting local industries, empowering community-based associations, and sustaining eco-friendly initiatives for a stronger local economy.
