“Alam niyo ba na may pinagbabawal na technique” para lumitaw o magpakita ang Butanding 🐋?

Long ago in Donsol, may paniniwala ang ilang locals na may paraan daw para “tawagin” o mapalapit ang mga butanding

Hindi namin alam na may ganitong paniniwala pala ang ilang locals noon. We simply did it for fun at para hindi mawalan ng pag-asa habang naghihintay makita ang gentle giant- without knowing na isa pala itong long-standing belief connected to whale shark sightings.

After namin makita ang butanding at makausap ang tourism officer, saka lang namin nalaman na ang simpleng ginawa namin ay bahagi pala ng local belief.

Sa bayan ng Donsol, Sorsogon, ay matatagpuan ang kakaibang seafood delicacy mula sa Brgy. St. Cruz o mas sikat sa tawag na “Tamisan” o giant squid na kilalang-kilala sa lugar dahil sa laki, sarap, at pagiging fresh nito.

There’s actually a fascinating story - and even a romantic one - behind its name! According to the tourism officer and some locals who shared stories about Donsol’s, the name “𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙤𝙡” came from the 𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙤 or shipyard kung saan dumadaong ang mga bangka 🚤, and from the 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙣 or anvil used by blacksmiths back then.
