Morning
At Baluarte, San Jose in Tacloban City, view World War II Japanese pillboxes and cannons.
Proceed to General MacArthur Leyte Landing Memorial / Commemorative Rock Garden of Peace facing the historic Leyte Gulf.
Visit Palo Metropolitan Cathedral, an emergency hospital during the war. In Palo, you will find the bridge named after the first American casualty. View Hill 522 (Guinhangdan Hill) where many Japanese lives were lost and now a pilgrimage site.
Pass by Carigbara, once a capital of Leyte, Try delicious lacal foods and delicacies.
At Limon, Capoocan, one of the fiercest World War II batteles was fought. Japanese war memorial markers here and farther at Kananga stand today.
Afternoon
Visit the Japanese memorial marker at Carlota Hills in Ormoc City. Pass by the Zaldivar Park in Albuera. Stop-over at Hill 120 in Dulag, where the first American flag was raised after the fall of Bataan during the WW II. Go back to Tacloban.
