𝟭𝟲𝟰𝗧𝗛 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗭𝗔𝗟

The NHCP will commemorate the 164th birth anniversary of José Rizal on Thursday, 19 June 2025.

Wreath laying ceremonies will be held in the morning at the NHCP - Museo ni Jose Rizal, Calamba in Laguna, NHCP Museo ni Jose Rizal Dapitan in Zamboanga del Norte, NHCP Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago, and the Rizal National Monument in Manila.

In the afternoon, the children's book 𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘦𝘯𝘨 𝘕𝘢𝘨𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘰 will be launched at the Book Nook of The Podium in Mandaluyong City. Originally written by Hans Christian Andersen and translated into Tagalog by Rizal, it was adapted into modern Filipino with new illustrations. The book will also be made available on the National Memory Project (memory.nhcp.gov.ph).

Rizal is best known for exposing social problems and inspiring the Filipino people through his writings, especially his novels 𝘕𝘰𝘭𝘪 𝘔𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘦 and 𝘌𝘭 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮𝘰. He also gave free medical services and taught children while he was exiled in Dapitan.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
