Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite.
For those who don’t know, Emilio Aguinaldo is our country’s first president-slash-general who contributed much to our people’s independence from colonialism.
His home is a seven-storey house designed by Aguinaldo himself. It looks small from the outside but it has full of secret passages and escape routes. Since they were living in a time of war, they had to have a back up plan (in case of attacks).
Besides being a prominent political figure, there are tons of facts – interesting ones – about Gen. Aguinaldo
Did you know that he was one of the first victims of medical malpractice in the Philippines?
Did you know that his house had several secret passages to use as escape routes during an attack?
Did you know that he had his own fishing pond (I would hardly call it a pond in his backyard tho. It’s more of a lake)?
Did you know that he designed his own house (copied it from somewhere and gave it his own touch)?
Did you know that he has state-of-the-art fridge and bidet models (of course, based on their time)?
Did you know that his home has its own bowling alley and indoor swimming pools?
