DOLE Issues Amendments and Clarifications to Alien Employment Permit (AEP) Rules

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued Department Order No. 248-A, Series of 2025, titled “Supplemental Guidelines Clarifying and Amending Provisions of DOLE Department Order No. 248, Series of 2025” (“DO 248-A”). This issuance clarifies and revises certain provisions of the earlier order on Alien Employment Permit (AEP) processing.

Effective July 2025, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has increased its Express Lane service fee from Php500.00 to Php1,000.00 per transaction.
The BI stated that the increase is necessary to offset administrative costs and enhance efficiency in providing services to the public.

The Express Lane Fee is itemised separately in the Bureau's official receipts.
