Wow this is true!

Yes, there's such a thing as Ivatan "winter"--minus the snow, of course.

According to anthropologist Francisco A. Datar of U.P. Diliman, Batanes "is classified as having Type A climate, a pleasant semi-temperate climate."

The Ivatans recognize two seasons: rayun (summer), which lasts from March to May, amian (winter) from November to February. Kachachimuyen are the rainy months for the rest of the year, except for a brief spell of warm weather (dekey a rayun) in the two weeks between September and October.

The "winter," as most Ivatans would like to call it, can have temperatures as low as 7 Β°Celsius!

Have you experienced the Batanes "winter"? What is the most memorable thing you love about Batanes? Please share!

Nakabuang Beach and Arch

This has got to be the most photographed places in Sabtang or even in the wholw Batanes.. White and fine sand, pristine and blue waters. What more could you ask for? Throw in a geographical wonder in the form of the Nakabuang Arch.
: The beach is also known as Morong Beach and can be accessed from Basco via 30 minutes boat ride from Ivana Port.
