Mt. Pulag, Ambangeg Trail (Backtrail)

This is why Mt. Pulag is in everyone's list of mountains to climb. At the right time and at the right weather conditions, you will be treated with a view like this. This photo was snapped by a hiker just this week.

It's beautiful in photos but it's a whole different experience when you are on the mountain yourself. You can feel the cold wind on your skin. You can see the clouds ever shifting. And you can see in real time as the color and hues of the sky change. And of course, there's the sense of scale when you are standing on one of Pulag's peaks.

However.

Getting to the summit of Mt. Pulag doesn't mean the view will always be like this. In fact, it's not always like this. Luck plays a role. I personally know someone who summited the mountain numerous times but she never experienced seeing the mountain's iconic sea of clouds.
