BUKTAMACO had the honor of attending the Product and Enterprises Development Training conducted by the Department of Agriculture 4K program held at NMACLRC, Dalawangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, on November 7 and 8, 2024.
The experience offered us a fresh viewpoint on value-adding and processing, as well as the Fundamentals of Packaging and Labeling. The resource speaker's views were priceless, and they motivated us to make sure that the number and quality of inputs fulfill the necessary requirements.
We are appreciative of the chance to interact with like-minded people and get knowledge from such experienced professionals. We can't wait to use what we've discovered in future goods.
We would want to convey our heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Agriculture and the entire team behind the Product and Enterprise Development.
We are particularly grateful to the resource speakers for their enlightening lectures. Their knowledge and dedication were extremely inspirational.

Last weekend the Bukidnon Tagoloanon Tribe as the CADT holder over its Ancestral Domain sought the assistance of the provincial PNP mobile force unit to enforce city ordinance 945, an ordinance regulating mountaineering, camping and trekking and in exercise of its right to regulate activities within the ancestral domain. We thank our law enforcers for its support. We hope that we all will be mindful of existing laws and ordinances. If you plan to engage in regulated activities, please secure the proper permits from the city tourism office.

TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND ORGANIZERS OF THE EVENT “SABANGAN HEALING JAM & CAMPING”

It has come to our attention that an event titled “Sabangan Healing Jam & Camping” is scheduled to take place on June 1, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Sabangan, Can-ayan, Malaybalay City. This event has been widely promoted on social media, attracting significant public interest.
As stipulated in City Ordinance No. 975 Series of 2021, all activities conducted within established sites or routes must receive prior approval from the City Tourism Office, coordinated closely with the concerned barangay and Indigenous Peoples (IP) community.
We wish to highlight that the proposed event site falls within the jurisdiction of the Bukidnon Tagoloanon Tribe Ancestral Domain. The government formally recognized our Native Title, ownership, and rights over this ancestral domain through the issuance of Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title No. (CADT) R10-MLY-1115-193 on November 6, 2015. This title encompasses approximately 990 hectares within Barangays One, Sumpong, and Can-ayan, Malaybalay City, as affirmed by NCIP EN BANC Resolution No. 190-2015 AD Series of 2015.
Moreover, in 2017, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) En Banc recognized our Indigenous Political Structure (IPS), validating our authority under our cultural laws and leadership system within our Ancestral Domain, in accordance with the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997.
Regrettably, we have observed that the organizers of the “Sabangan Healing Jam & Camping” have not coordinated with us, the CADT holders, nor have they obtained our Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) for this activity. Considering the nature of this tourism-related event, it is imperative that the organizers secure the necessary permits from the local government unit and adhere to the provisions of Ordinance No. 975.
Additionally, the proposed event site holds significant cultural and spiritual importance to our community. It is a sacred ground, and any activities conducted there must be approached with the utmost respect and sensitivity.
We have made several efforts to coordinate with the City Tourism Office, the Malaybalay City Mayor’s Office, and the NCIP, along with the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office - 1st Police Mobile Force Company, to enforce City Ordinance No. 975 Series of 2021.
We urge the public and the event organizers to respect our rights and the legal processes established to protect our cultural heritage and sacred sites. We request that the organizers promptly address this matter by coordinating with the appropriate authorities and our community to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
