Backed by reintegration programs and the unwavering support of Congressman Steve Chiongbian Solon, over 20,000 Arabica coffee seedlings now thrive where once there was only conflict. His trust in these farmers to become entrepreneurs and community leaders continues to fuel their transformation.

The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Malungon successfully released a rescued Philippine Tarsier (Carlito syrichta) on May 7, into the NANIMA Watershed in Sitio Ariston, Barangay Poblacion.
Barangay Alkikan’s Punong Barangay Tata Arellano first turned over the tarsier to MENRO on May 5. After assessing its health, Municipal Veterinarian Dr. Fritzgerald Duco confirmed the primate was fit for release.
The NANIMA Watershed, certified by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Sarangani, offers an ideal environment for tarsiers with dense forest cover and minimal human disturbance.
Recognized as “Near Threatened” by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Philippine Tarsier faces increasing risks from habitat loss. This conservation effort highlights the commitment of LGU Malungon and its partners in protecting biodiversity and promoting environmental stewardship.
