The Department of Tourism - MIMAROPA successfully conducted the COMMUNITY TOUR GUIDING for the tour guides and aspiring tour guides of selected LGUs last June 20 - 26, 2022 held in Season's Hotel and Convention Center, Sablayan Occidental Mindoro.

Our Governor Eduardo B. Gadiano and Provincial Administrator Muriel M. Reguinding showed their full support as they gave their messages to the participants during their visit. It was indeed another achievement as we pace towards a more progressive Occidental Mindoro and have our tour guides as the tourism ambassadors of our province.

With the assistance of the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro thru the Provincial Tourism Office headed by Ms. Ma. Isabel J. Castillo, the seven (7) day training concluded with a total of thirty (30) tour guides who passed the written examination and mock tour and are now equipped and ready to be a Department of Tourism - Accredited Tour Guides.

Thank you so much to the Department of Tourism - MIMAROPA, RD Atty. Bevienne G. Malateo, Ma'am Cecil Aranton, and Ms. Edne Balagtas for always supporting Occidental Mindoro. We would also like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to our speakers, Sir Manu Del Rosario for sharing his expertise in tour guiding and to Sir Leovino Bundang for the overview of the history of our province.

A big THANK YOU also to the supportive Municipal Tourism Officers of Occidental Mindoro! Mabuhay po kayo!

The next steps are the DOT-Accreditation and formulation of the Occidental Mindoro Tour Guides Association. 🙌

As we carry on in the planning process of our Provincial and Municipal Sustainable Tourism Master Plan, the Blue Water Consultancy headed by Sir Louie Mencias and Ms. Chen Mencias conducted a two-day face-to-face workshop for tourism stakeholders last June 14 - 15, 2022 from Paluan, Mamburao, Sta. Cruz, Lubang and Looc, and June 16-17, 2022 from Sablayan, Calintaan, Rizal, San Jose and Magsaysay.

The objectives of this workshop were the introduction of Landscape Values, Creating a Vision Board, Vision Reality Gap Analysis, Articulation of Goals and Objectives, Measuring the Tourism industry, Destination Management Organization, Market Segmentation, and Tourism Product Development.

Our Governor Eduardo B. Gadiano showed his support during the workshop in Magsaysay and stated during his message that Tourism is one of his thrusts and priorities for this new chapter of his administration. It was an assurance for our tourism stakeholders as we all work together for the progress of our tourism industry.

Ayon sa inilabas na Alert Level Classsification ng Inter-Agency Task Force, mananatili pa ring nakataas sa Alert Level 2 ang buong lalawigan ng Occidental Mindoro mula May 16 hanggang 31, 2022.

Bagamat wala ng naitatalang kaso ng Covid sa lalawigan, marami pa rin sa ating mga kababayan ang hindi pa nababakunahan kung kaya’t hindi natin maabot ang 70% record ng mga bakunado na kinakailangan ng IATF upang aprubahan ang pagpapababa ng COVID Alert Level ng ating probinsya.

Patuloy ang paalala ng Pamunuang Panlalawigan na sumunod sa ating mga health protocols gaya ng pagsusuot ng facemask at social distancing.
