A healthier community. Sustainable livelihoods. A lasting impact.

The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAAโ„ข), in partnership with Boracay Foundation, Inc. (BFI), is launching a long-term community project in Cagban, Boracay, focused on two important goals: fighting malnutrition and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local residents.

Rather than a one-time act of giving, the initiative looks toward long-term solutions that address community needs while helping residents build opportunities for a more secure future. By bringing nutrition and livelihood into one shared effort, the project aims to support not only the well-being of the Cagban community but also its capacity to grow and thrive.

The partnership underscores a broader vision for tourismโ€”one that goes beyond welcoming visitors and generating economic activity to investing in the people and communities that make destinations what they are. Through sustained collaboration, PTAAโ„ข and BFI seek to help create meaningful change that can be felt long after the initial launch.

The initiative was joined by PLtCol Orlando Carag Jr., Chief of Police of Malay Police Station; Ma. Victoria Aguirre Salem, Sangguniang Bayan Member of Malay, Aklan; Dindo Salazar, Chairman of Boracay Foundation, Inc.; and Claribel Casimero, Vice President for Finance of Boracay Foundation, Inc.

For PTAAโ„ข, this marks an important step toward making corporate social responsibility more than an activity on the calendarโ€”it is a commitment to working with partners and communities toward lasting, tangible progress.

Because meaningful tourism development begins with the people. And lasting change begins with a commitment to stay, work together, and make a difference.

The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAAโ„ข) expressed its support for consistency in the countryโ€™s tourism branding as the Philippines considers a proposed 15-year lifespan for its tourism campaign slogan.

PTAAโ„ข President Jaison Yang shared his insights on the proposal during an on-air interview with Zhander and Angel on DZXL Newsโ€™ Ang Say ng Taumbayan, Alams Na! on October 14, 2026.

โ€œWe should not politicize the tourism sector,โ€ Yang said, underscoring the importance of continuity in tourism branding and promotional efforts despite changes in leadership.

His statement underscores the value of continuity in tourism campaigns, which can help strengthen the countryโ€™s tourism identity, build international recognition, and reinforce the Philippinesโ€™ position as a competitive global destination through sustained promotional efforts.

PTAA Leads the Way in Connecting Tourism Stakeholders

The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAAโ„ข) brought its PTAA Konek initiative to Boracay, taking the lead in bringing government agencies and industry partners together to strengthen tourism businesses and unlock new opportunities for the island.

A major highlight was PTAAโ€™s direct engagement with Malay Mayor Frolibar Bautista, whose participation in the panel discussion demonstrated the local governmentโ€™s involvement in supporting tourism stakeholders.

Discussions explored new visitor experiences, including e-biking, pickleball, and a proposed 3D museum, to diversify Boracayโ€™s attractions and create more opportunities for local businesses.

Key industry partners also affirmed their support. Philippine Airlines (PAL) highlighted the importance of air connectivity in driving tourism growth, while VFS Global expressed its commitment to bringing visa services closer to travelers through more accessible, doorstep solutions.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) likewise reaffirmed its support through its programs, partnerships with PTAA, and the Travel Tour Expo (TTE), helping strengthen market opportunities for Philippine tourism.

Led by PTAA President Jaison Yang, the initiative brought together representatives from government, aviation, visa services, and the local tourism sector.

Also participating were Mr. Gabriel Pamularco Cahilig of the Department of Tourism Region VI, Mr. Ryan Madraso of Philippine Airlines, Mr. Syed Shahen Shah of VFS Global, and Mr. Dindo Salazar of Boracay Foundation Inc.

Special thanks to the Henann Group for generously providing the venue and supporting this initiative to bring tourism stakeholders together.

Through PTAA Konek, PTAA continues to take the initiative in connecting the industry with decision-makers and partners who can help turn collaboration into meaningful business opportunities.

United together, further together!

The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAAโ„ข) joined the celebration of the grand opening of Kaban Boracay on October 11, 2026, welcoming a new addition to the islandโ€™s growing hospitality and tourism landscape.

Representing PTAAโ„ข at the milestone event were President Jaison P. Yang, Assistant Vice President for Outbound Dominic Castillejos, Auditor Amie Demapindan, and Assistant Vice President for Inbound Kristoffer Kim Paollo Guzman.

Located in Station 0, Boracay, Kaban brings together upscale accommodations, dining, wellness, retail, and entertainment in an integrated destination designed to give visitors more ways to experience the island beyond its world-renowned beaches.

With its opening, Kaban adds a new dimension to Boracayโ€™s tourism offerings, reflecting the continued growth and diversification of the Philippine hospitality industry and creating opportunities to encourage longer stays and more immersive visitor experiences.

PTAAโ„ข congratulates Kaban Boracay on this milestone and wishes the team continued success in contributing to the development of Philippine tourism.
