Russell was INCREDIBLE. He is deeply knowledgeable about Intramuros, Manila, and Filipino history. He presented an incredibly well-researched tour and clearly has a deep passion for the history of his city. The pace of the tour was great - we paused for a bit to wait out some rain, but it really felt like we were hearing from an old friend about Intramuros. He presented very challenging history with grace, respect, and sensitivity. I learned so much that I never knew about Manila - if you haven’t learned about the Battle of Manila, you will get your crash course here. 10/10, would do again. From the moment he approached us outside the gates to Fort Santiago and introduced himself to the end of the tour when he helped us buy an umbrella from a local vendor and told us the best place to call a grab, he was an incredible resource. Book this tour if you’re on the fence. The history of Intramuros, after hearing it on this tour, should not be condensed to an hour like some other tours do.
