Mt. Everest recorded first death of the season as climber from Philippines died at Camp IV last night.

The death zone of Mount Everest begins above Camp IV, which is located at approximately 8,000 meters (26,247 feet) on the South Col route. This is the last major camp before climbers attempt the final push to the summit. At this altitude, the oxygen level is dangerously low, making it extremely difficult for the human body to function without supplemental oxygen.

Camp IV marks the entry into the most perilous part of the climb, where exhaustion, altitude sickness, and extreme weather become life-threatening risks. Climbers typically spend as little time as possible at this camp and above, due to the severe physiological stress and limited chances of rescue in case of emergencies.
