Finally visited , China! And experienced the Huangpu River Cruise! This is a must-thing to do when you're in Shanghai.
The Huangpu River Cruise takes you to see the spectacular skyline of Shanghai and the skyscrapers with its gorgeous display of lights at night. And most especially the two iconic landmarks in Shanghai: The Oriental Pearl Tower and The Bund!
1. The Oriental Pearl Radio & Television Tower is a stunning 468-meter futurist tower in Lujiazui, Pudong, Shanghai, known for its unique design featuring 11 stacked spheres and distinct columns, it offers multiple observation decks, a revolving restaurant, and the Shanghai History Museum.
2. The Bund is a waterfront promenade and historical district in central Shanghai, stretching 1.5 kilometers along the western bank of the Huangpu River.
It is renowned for its incredible European-style architecture and art-deco buildings, and the futuristic skyscrapers of the Lujiazui financial district across the water. This area was historically known as the "Wall Street of the East".
The Huangpu River Cruise is the best activity you can have in Shanghai at night time as it offers the best panoramic views of Shanghai's modern skyline and iconic structures like the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, and the World Financial Center.
At night, the historic buildings on the Bund and the skyscrapers across the river light up in a synchronized illumination show that runs until late in the evening. Cruise ticket is ¥150.
You'll have an option to get the best spot (like what I did last night) in the upper-deck to see the unobstructed view of the light show by paying an additional ¥100 to enter the VIP area (free snacks).
I'll post the full video of my Shanghai, Wuxi, and Hangzhou travel (complete with guide and expenses) on our YouTube channel: The Gourmand Traveler, and full story on our travel blog: https://www.thegourmandtravelguide.com SOON! (too many videos to edit 😂)
