Gloriously restored and thoughtfully modernized, the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris emerges from an epic refurbishment ready to face the next century.

The Hôtel de Crillon was considered to be an emblem of fine 18th-century architecture. In March 2013, the hotel closed its doors for a major four-year renovation. The design team included the artistic director Aline d’Amman and three interior decorators: Tristan Auer, Chahan Minassian and Cyril Vergniol. The protean Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel, also reimagined two of the hotel's most prestigious suites, Les Grands Appartements, facing Place de la Concorde.

The Hôtel de Crillon reopened last Wednesday, 5 July 2017 as a new property of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

Your Concierge Manila recommends the Philippine Gold: Treasures of Forgotten Kingdoms, an exhbition of pre-Hispanic gold in the Philippines at the Asia Society New York. This exhibition of more than 100 gold objects focuses on the wealth of the golden age of Butuan, a polity on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao that rose to commercial prominence in the tenth century and declined in the thirteenth century.

A selection of the most extraordinary objects from a 1981 discovery—on loan from the Ayala Museum and the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas Gold Collection and have never been shown outside of the Philippines—forms the core of “Philippine Gold: Treasures of Forgotten Kingdoms.” Many of the works, unearthed between the 1960s and 1981, affirm the unprecedented creativity, prosperity, and sophisticated metalworking tradition of the precolonial period.

This is the melting pot of shared knowledge."

PAVB’s role is to mount and support the Philippine Pavilion in the International Art…

Past and Presence: Raffles Hotels & Resorts Magazine
Despite its ultra-modern skyline, much is being done to restore the original architecture of Singapore – the narrow, terraced dwellings known as shophouses.

Raffles Hotel Singapore is scheduled for a major renovation in late 2015 but Peter French, its president, assures that despite the refurbishment, the iconic landmark - highly regarded as one of the world's greatest hotel, will retain its old world charm. A deep respect on heritage and architectural sensitivity will be spirited in the entire renovation process.
