FOOD ROUNDUP: BOWLS OF CHINATOWN MNL 🍜

It’s been raining the past few days, and a hot bowl of noodles sounds just about right.

For this food roundup, here are some (and just some) comforting bowls from different spots in and around the Chinatown MNL area. From beef mami to chicken noodles to lomi to your other favorites, we have everything here.

A little note on where these bowls are coming from: Binondo, as we all know, is the historic heart of Chinatown MNL, but its influence doesn’t simply end at the district line.

In nearby parts of Sta. Cruz, San Nicolas, and Tondo, the ones that are really geographically close to Binondo, you’ll find the same Filipino-Chinese food culture, businesses, and community that have long been part of Chinatown MNL’s story.

These districts are technically outside of Chinatown MNL, but that shared history and influence make them a natural part of the food stories found around the area.

For now, here are a few hot bowls from this neck of the woods. In no particular order ➡️

CHEF PANDA TURNS ONE 🐼

Happy first anniversary, Chef Panda - Dimsum House! The restaurant opened in Chinatown MNL in June 2025 and has since become one of the district’s newer dining spots.

Chef Panda keeps things simple, offering familiar Chinese comfort food at prices that are easy on the wallet. Its signature big noodle bowls remain priced at ₱199, while soups are still ₱99. What sets them apart from many others in Chinatown MNL is the choice of broth, as diners can opt for either a shrimp-and-pork broth or a beef broth, depending on their preference. It’s a unique touch that they’ve continued to offer a year later.

Aside from this, they still offer a wide selection of dimsum, ranging from xiao long bao, dumplings, kikiam, and different kinds of pao to buchi, and more, all priced at ₱99 each.

Chef Panda is located at Regina Garden II on Reina Regente Street. If you’re coming from Ongpin Street, it’s just a few minutes away. The same goes if you’re coming from Lucky Chinatown Mall.

Congratulations, Chef Panda! 🎉
