As of April 8, 2025, Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island experienced an explosive eruption at 5:51 a.m., according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). The eruption produced thick ash plumes that drifted southwest and triggered pyroclastic density currents flowing down the volcano's southern slope.

The volcano remains under Alert Level 3, indicating a high risk of further hazardous eruptions. PHIVOLCS has advised evacuations within the six-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone.
