From June 2022, the Japanese government issued a new Visa that allows foreigners in Japan to bring their spouse, significant other, friends, or families to the country.

To get this Visa, you will have to submit documents including invitation letter, pictures proving the relationship... This Visa will allow a maximum stay of 90 days.

MANILA – Japan is now open to Filipino tourists provided they book their trip through an accredited Japan-based tour operator.

The eased entry protocol took effect Friday, covering leisure travelers from 98 countries and territories on the “blue list”, including the Philippines, United States, Britain, China, South Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand, according to Kyodo News Agency.

"Yes (Filipinos can come) but it is not yet fully opened. It's just for participants of a package organized by an agent in Japan," Counselor Hideki Makino of the Japanese Embassy in Manila said in a statement on Friday.

The Embassy said Japanese tour operators will handle the application of tourists. Once the guided tour is finalized, tourists may then apply for a visa through a travel agent.

The Embassy said fully vaccinated individuals are exempt from quarantine but would have to present a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure. (PNA)

"Jeju Island in South Korea Reopens Visa-Free for Filipino Travelers." ✈☘❤

K-friends, get ready as travel to Korea begins again starting June 1, 2022!

Korea will start accepting Filipino tourists from June 1, 2022. As announced by the Embassy, application and issuance of all types of visa, including tourist(C-3-9) will resume.

Meanwhile, multiple entry visas issued before April 5, 2020, which have not expired, may be used without re-application.

Detailed information, such as visa application procedure, will be announced soon.

Returning Pinoys no longer obliged to fill out, submit arrival cards to BI

Filipinos coming from abroad are no longer obliged to fill out arrival cards and submit them to officers manning the counters of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) at the airports.

According to lawyer Carlos Capulong, BI Port Operations Division Chief, said he recently issued a memorandum directing that the submission of arrival or disembarkation cards by Filipino passengers be stopped following the sharp decline in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

“This move is part of BI’s efforts to ease its travel requirements for arriving Filipinos and facilitate their fast and hassle-free entry into their own country,” Capulong said.

The BI official observed that it is no longer necessary for arriving Filipinos to fill out and submit the said disembarkation cards to the BI, adding that such was the practice before the onset of the pandemic.

He added that the policy to exempt arriving Filipinos from submitting embarkation cards was approved by BI Commissioner Jaime Morente.

“We required the submission of these disembarkation cards by arriving Filipinos to help the government in its contact tracing efforts at height of the pandemic. Now that Covid cases are on the decline these cards can now be dispensed with,” Capulong said.

The adjustment, according to Capulong, will significantly lessen the requirements and processing time of arriving Filipinos.

The BI earlier reported that they are projecting around 14,000 total arrivals or more for the month of April.
