Before this trip, I only knew about the popular beaches, but it turns out there’s a whole lot more to this beautiful country. It’s a land of rich culture, incredible landscapes, and a vibrant spirit that you can feel everywhere you go. From the historic churches to the chaotic city life, from the beautiful women to the delicious food, every moment was an adventure.

The best part? The Christmas season starts in September here! So be prepared to eat rice for every meal and enjoy all the magic this country has to offer.

Turns out, the Philippines is a whole lot more. My travel buddy and I decided to go off the grid and ended up finding the 5 wildest places that absolutely blew our minds. We saw monkeys in the wild, ziplined over seven waterfalls, and explored caves from World War II. We even found a hidden beach with white sand and nothing but silence.

The biggest lesson we learned? Sometimes the most incredible experiences are the ones you don’t plan. You just show up and let things happen. It’s not about the places you go, it’s about the places that make you feel.

I was walking alone in Intramuros when a local man suddenly stopped me. For a second I panicked, thinking I did something wrong. But he simply smiled and said: ‘Don’t go down that alley, it’s dark tonight. Take the other street, it’s safer.’
